This content is dynamic! Just seen the word dynamic content on mailchimp and thought yes what a word, dynamic. Scheduling the newsletter today has caused me a world of bother, well it's not really but I'd like to be dramatic about it all. It does take a bit of time and does anyone really care what books I'm reading? I do because I love reading books and THAT'S WHAT MATTERS!
James you have to remember that the reason you write crazy talk isn't to wow people with your incredible dynamic content, it is to explore the crazyness in your head, heart and soul which may lead you to your next venture. You can't be semi-retired forever remember. Ah yes OK thanks for that I remember now.
I'm not really thinking about business things at the moment, the main thing I am thinking about is writing, because really the way to start a business if that is what you are inclined to do is absolutely not to think about what business to start. And business schmizness anyway BORING like i've said before i'm just not feeling it atm. Startups and all that, I can't even go on LinkedIn at the moment it's just an absolute feeding frenzy on there of everyone selling stuff and promoting themselves. Everyone has a podcast and everyone with a podcast actually has a business that the podcast promotes really, but then everyone is SO AUTHENTIC that it's hard to tell who's genuine and who's just in it for the bills £££.
i've been looking into substack this week as possibly a way to support my writing and to make writing this newsletter more better, or just better. Sanctus are currently paying for the mailchimp subscription that funds my writing, don't tell anyone!! Sorry George! And that probably isn't a good idea forever, substack is free and they only take money from you if you wanted to do paid posts and things. I do quite like the idea of creating a business of my writing. yes? That feels very hard to do, very pure and sustainable and could lead to my writing being better. Mange tout Rodney, mange tout.
The other thing about it is the idea of charging for my writing at some point scares the bejesus out of me, which in my experience is always really good - doing things that scare you often leads to WOW moments in life.
Maybe if you have got all the way down here you can tell me if you would ever pay for my writing?? Maybe crazy talk as a special paid section! but then why? but wait people did pay for my book!! yes they darn diddly did and I sold a number of copies that is not 1000 and not 1000 but in between on the upper limit of the bottom half! I'm not sure if I can say the exact number, sorry penguin x
I do think I will explore substack and then wait until I write something that so many people think is amazing that I start another movement out of it, like Sanctus? that sounds like a plan!
shreddies,
james x
