If this was a podcast I would 1005000% start it off by singing.
Imagine me singing this song that I am making up
I don’t believe in fairytales, la la la la la
But if I did I’d be in one nowwww
La la la la
I’m a crazy crazy man in a crazy crazy world
Ooo last night that dessert it was so lemon curdddddd
fairyTALES!
Or i’d say and do this (I am actually saying this).
*deeep inhale, proper big one through the nostrils*
(I invite you to do it, go on, I know you want to I bet you’re thinking that you’re not actually going to follow my stupid instructions but I bet you want to just a little bit)
So yes **deep inhale through the nostrils**
On the outbreath…. ]
GRRRRRRRRRR LIKE A LION
(Repeat 3 - 4 times and really feel like a lion or lioness)
It really does feel good to do things like that, in the car the other day Sarah had the idea to just scream as loud as possible and we did. Wow. I’ve wanted to do that for so long. I found this really deep roar within me, it was very very powerful and felt excellent. I’ll be doing it again.
I highly highly recommend roaring or screaming as loud as you possibly can if you find a place to do that. The shower perhaps? Cars are very good for it.
The autumn colours are just lovely aren’t they. The trees in front of me are that lovely yellowy, amber colour with some of the lush green still there.
I love how in autumn you can really see the transition and change happening. It’s gradual and then one day it’s freezing dark and the trees are naked. It does take a long time and then it just hits you.
Quite a powerful metaphor really that one.
I’ve had some good feedback on The Torch which is jolly good (fantastic phrase must make mental note to use more frequently)
Jolly, such a good word.
I promise you that you cannot say jolly aloud without smiling. Or say jolly in a sentence this week and you will smile.
I jolly well invite you to do that.
Yes The Torch, feels right and feels exciting. For my most loyal and crazy readers I have an idea for you.
I once hosted a writing workshop where I created a few different exercises for people to get comfortable writing from the heart. We did some writing and then we shared some of our writing with one another. It was a lovely space and I invited people to play with writing both as a way to process their own feelings but also possibly as something to share publicly with others.
I felt like I did a good job of creating that space and people loved it.
I’ve been thinking about doing something similar for people, where I create a writing space and workshop for people to come to and I facilitate some basic writing prompts to support people to write authentically. Either for purely personal uses, social media or work. Or all 3.
If you’re reading this and you think, “yeah I’d come along to that James”, please do drop me a message. I’ll do the first ones for free and maybe just get people to pay me what they thought it was worth either £0 or something.
That’s that, if you’re intrigued about possibly writing with me and getting more comfortable with writing as a practice, drop me an email and I’ll set something up.
If you’re still here and you did a) GRRR like a lion or b) say jolly out loud and smile or c) do both please please tell me as that would massively please me.
Adios friends.
Thank you crazy gods for allowing this craziness to flow from my body today. A-cray.
